Alright I have had it. Seems there is new advertising campaign sweeping the country and affecting just about every area of our lives. It is the new “vote for your charity” game. People, it is nothing more than advertising!! And I refuse to participate anymore.
It works like this: Pepsi, Chase, Applewood, Intuit (just to name a few off the top of my head) holds a contest to VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CHARITY. Now I am supposed to market on behalf of said company, bug all my Facebook fans, donors, volunteers and say something like: “Stop what you are doing, log onto (insert greedy corporation here) and vote for Project Sanctuary. We could win $10,000. And Please bug and harass all of your friends too!!”
We won’t win and your vote doesn’t help one single military family. Project Sanctuary did enter into a local contest was beat by an After School Prom Party committee. WTH?!
So, I am done. If Pepsi, Chase, Intuit or Applewood wants advertising space and wants me to solicit on their behalf, they need to Show Me the Money. And I promise not to bombard your inboxes and Facebook pages with worthless advertising.
If you want to really help a charity, then donate. Seriously, that is how we survive.
