Our Mission:

August 17, 2011 4:32 PM

Project Sanctuary provides therapeutic, curative, supportive and recreational activities to veterans, active military personnel, their spouses and children in a leisure environment.  We are dedicated to providing a safe environment where individuals and their families who have been affected by their service in the military may spend both leisure and structured time with their families and fellow service members in an effort to diminish the wearisome impact of returning home after a considerable period away while serving the interests of the country.

OUR Vision:  To build a permanent facility for military families so that they always have a place to reconnect and receive the support and services they deserve.

Project Sanctuary was founded with the belief that the whole family serves and the best way to support the men and women returning from war is to support the entire family,  We offer six day therapeutic retreats in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.  Our families enjoy year round recreation such as hiking, fishing, skiing, campfires and s'mores.  Healthy Marriage and Financial Peaces classes provide necessary tools.  We then follow these families for the next TWO years to continue to provide the support and services they need.  These families serve together, they deserve the chance to heal together! Of our 125 families, 120 are together and we can report one arrest and ZERO suicides.

Every day 18 veterans commit suicide.  Divorce is twice the national average and unemployment is triple the national average.  We simply are not doing enough to “support the troops”.

Project Sanctuary receives NO government or state funding.  We rely on foundations, organizations, donations and events.  Each retreat is held as funding permits. Currently our waitlist is 700 families.
